Giro d’Italia is an annual multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in Italy. The organisation of the event begins in June and continues for the whole year. I started working on it in 2015 and had the opportunity to create a brand identity of the 99 edition as a key member of my a team. This was one of the most important projects for me, as whilst I worked on the project I fell in love with cycling, its complexity and its labor.
At the beginning we made 4 promotional brochures, which helped the client to make themselves known by the cities, the companies and the media which took part in the event.
The new route 2016 Giro d’Italia was unveiled at the Expo 2015. From this moment we defined all the details and the elements of the brand; such as the brand manual and all types of style-guide (merchandising, social media etc.).
Throughout the entire year, I created in every design piece an identity recognizable and coherent to the brand’s tone of voice, helping the client to promote itself and to engage new followers.
